Black Cempo Rice
Cempo Hitam is a black rice indigenous to Yogya and Central Java and cultivated by only a few groups of farmers. This rice takes 5-6 months to cultivate, much longer than other rice which normally takes only 3 to 4 months. As any other black rice, this rice contains high anti-oxidant, potassium and magnesium. Consumptions of black rice regularly will help to increase immunity system, control blood pressures prevents kidney failure and cancer/tumors, slowing the aging process, prevents anemia, repairs liver damages, increases the heart and brain functions. This rice is suitable for fried rice, risotto or to compliment gravy dishes.
